SUMMARY:Lecture Series- Brent Runyon: “Found in Matunuck: Historic Buildings and Places Along the Shore”
DESCRIPTION:The lecture will focus on what historic buildings and places Brent has discovered and how he discovered them. Brent Runyon was the executive director of the Providence Preservation Society (PPS) from 2013-2023. In this role he lead PPS through a period of remarkable growth and stability advocating for Providence’s sense of place and its heritage. In 2024 Brent was appointed to the Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission. Within the last few years Brent has launched his own historic preservation consulting firm Runyon Heritage Associates and he has recently completed an updated inventory of historic resources along Matunuck’s vulnerable shoreline for the Town of South Kingstown. \nReservations required.
